  Let's see. It's about time I expanded my theory of just what the Transmognifier is. (because I have other stuff I don't feel like doing right now. *snicker*) and yes, I do know I misspelled it. I didn't look up the word when I first came up with the concept of the device, and if I changed it now, people would be confused. The actual word is transmogrifier (spelled with an r)

I suppose the definition of the transmognifier, or the lumi-chomara as it was originally called, would be that it is a matter tranmogrifier. Something that changes something into something else, in case I haven't confused you enough yet.

Yup, I said that right; And on purpose, too.
The device picks up on strong energy fields, mostly the sparks of Transformers, since it's 'tuned' to such frequencies, but it'll occasionally pick up on other powerful energy sources. This has been my going theory on crossovers and how Jade (and whoever's with her) get teleported occasionally to an alternate dimension instead of her home dimension, or in crossing the dimensional barriers. I've heard somewhere that in order to leave one place and appear in another simultaneously, one would have to travel through time (I think that was Dr. Who, I'm not sure). Otherwwise, it would take several hours to travel from one side of the united states to the other, or however fast the speed of light (?) is.

Ergo, since dimensional travel is simply a sidestep in time (I heard somewhere that interdimensional travel is like going sideways through the time-space continuum) then it is possible for... well, you get the general idea. Another part of my theory has recently become that somehow, once the power sources (a transformer's spark) once 'tuned' to the transmognifier (once the device has come into physical contact with the owner of the 'power source' or spark and picked up on it's frequency), it will more than likely stay tuned to it, and try to pull it in once there is no resistance. This is also my theory on how Transformers "go to join the matrix", as it is a physical object, not an ethereal place such as heaven.

The resistance to this pull would be the spark casing and energy field surrounding a Transformer's spark. It keeps the life force from escaping a body. But once the body can no longer function, either the spark casing will open or the field deactivate without the energy to keep it there, and the spark is released.

How Jade gets away with not being sucked in, I still have yet to figure out. I think it's a loophole in the function programming of the device. Technically, since she is it's owner/protector, if she dies, the device no longer is safe. It no longer has someone to keep walking around and making contact with other 'energy sources' (people). That and I think there's a line of programming somewhere that tells it to simply return it's gaurdian to their point of origin (and safety) should something Really Bad happen.

Those who have come into contact with the device have joined it's power source. The blue orb inside it's center is actually an algamated spark, comprised of many sparks. Some didn't know such a thing would happen, some willingly gave their sparks to the lumi chomara in exchange for constant energy (possibly. I don't know fully yet on that subject. It was anchient times, at the very beginning of the Cybertronian wars) or whatever other reason they might have had at the time.

The transmognifier's original energy source was actually created from a shard of a large and very powerful spark. And, although I don't think the owner of that spark realises there's a piece missing, he is somehow drawn to it. Inasmuch as the Autobot Matrix of Leadership is a shard of the spark of primus (or so it is said), so is the Transmognifier's power source a shard of the spark of Unicron.

I heard in a fanfic somewhere that the Quintessons, who created the Cybertronians also created Unicron. and since they originally created the Transmognifier, it's possible.

The device was originally designed as a "transwarp" drive, something that could traverse space instantaneously (hence the time it takes to get there being skipped thanks to the warping of the fabric of space and time (time travel). But the devices they had created before wouldn't work for some reason. And I've heard somewhere that bio-computers are faster and more intellegent, I'vew included that in this fanfic theory. (the quints needed a 'smart driver', so they used a shard of the spark of the biggest transformer they ever built.)
